Story

Atlantic Flyer are a British roots-rock band that fuse the spirit of funk, blues, vintage rock and Americana with brothers’ Paul and Lee’s classic song-writing and pop hooks;  Atlantic Flyer’s sound is unmistakably their own.

Growing up in the indie heartland of Sheffield (UK), they cut their teeth in various local bands (where there were record deals won and lost, management fallouts, crowds large and small, rehearsal room burglaries and mid-life crises) before the demise of the traditional music industry and the arrival of kids, careers and rock ‘n’ roll burn-out ended it all.

So, in a bid to rediscover their musical heritage and get back to their roots, the brothers’ upped sticks to America – making pilgrimages to everywhere from Memphis and New Orleans to Laurel Canyon and the Whiskey-A-Go-Go – and returning with a rekindled desire to create a band steeped in the music that shaped them.

After a Christmas reunion with old bass player Mark Lee (closely followed by drummer Rich Blakey), they set about bringing to life the songs that Paul and Lee had started on the road; heartfelt songs about the highs and lows of life, about love of music, and about trying to stay positive in strange times.

The band are currently recording some of these songs with Grammy award-winning producer Chris G Wilkinson, who’s bringing some of his Nashville sauce to their sound.

Atlantic Flyer get airborne in 2026. Come along for the ride.
